buying a 1988 Skeeter F80 Strada

My brother wants to buy a 1988 Skeeter F80 Strada with a 75hp Merc from the same year. It's supposedly garage kept and the owner asking $3000. It comes with the trailer, two gas tanks, a Hummingbird, and a trolling motor.

Need insights from the boat gurus out there, what are the good sides and the bad sides of this boat?
I saw the boat with him, it's clean and in good condition, does that sound like a good deal?

In general it's a nice little boat. Light, nimble and durable, but almost 40 years old, so expect some outdated tech, if you can call it tech at all. The price seems reasonable, attractive even considering what you get. You said you looked at the boat and it seems in good condition, but I think you should go back and give it a proper inspection. Don't expect wonders after all these years. but double check everything so that you don't buy someone else's trash

$3000 is reasonable but I hope it will offer a reasonable value

$3,000 sounds fair if it's really clean and garage-kept but I'd be concerned about the age of the transom, wiring, and fuel system, even clean old boats can hide costly issues.
