DIY rub rail

I know I can probably find this if I look hard enough, but I was thinking if this is something I can DIY? I'm not trying to cut corners on price, I'm trying to cut corners on driving across the country for this, so i'd be happy to make it myself.

Yeah you can DIY it, @Lurerer0. As far as I knew, there's people who just use vinyl or rubber strips with stainless screws. The key is sealing the holes so water doesn't sneak in behind it.

Yep, it’s doable if you’re patient with it. @cap'n'crunch nailed the big thing. Good sealing matters more than the material itself. Have you figured out what profile you’re aiming for yet, or still deciding on vinyl vs rubber?
