I am thinking about a 2001 Skeeter bay boat

So I am checking out a 2001 22' Skeeter Bay with a 200 HPDI, and a guy's offering a decent deal. I'm wondering how it rides, how the layout feels on the water, and if the build holds up, I would love to hear from anyone who's spent time with one of these rigs

Had some seat time on an older skeeter bay a while back. Ride's pretty smooth for a 22 footer, handles chop better than you'd think and the layout's pretty simple but smart, gives plenty of space to move around without feeling cramped. Build quality holds up alright if it's been taken care of but check well especially the transom and decks

Glad to hear the layout's roomy and handles chop well

The 2001 Skeeter ZX2200 powered by a 200 HPDI is a great pick. It boasts a spacious layout and provides a smooth ride even in choppy waters, thanks to its 15-degree deadrise. Built with composite materials, it's designed to last. The 200 HPDI engine is generally reliable, but it's a good idea to check its maintenance records since some owners have mentioned occassional bogging problems

Yeah I'll dig into the maintenance history, I am hoping this one's been well cared for, the layout sounds promising

Don't got any idea on the 2001 ones but I've just been eyeing the Skeeter Bay for the build and great comfy ride in calm and choppy waters. :)
