Looking to buy this 1998 Skeeter ZX180 bass boat, but theres a crack in the gelcoat inside the splashwell where it meets the transom. The transom feels solid and the exterior hull has no cracks, but i'm worried water might be getting into the wood inside the transom and causing future issues. Should I be concerned? Any advice pls

It's smart to tap around the transom with a rubber mallet or do a moisture check, then watch for any flexing when you press down on the motor

@Skeeterr Agreed. A moisture meter will tell you a lot before you hand over any cash. Even a hairline crack can be the start of a bigger problem if water is finding its way in. My Mazda with sunroof had the tiniest crack and it was always raining inside.
