There's a 1986 Skeeter Starfire 150 for sale that fits my need and I'm looking to get it. The guy selling it says that the engine is rebuild last season and everything is perfect. Cosmetically it's not too bad, the paint isn't particularly great, but the hull looks to be in solid shape. He's selling it with the trailer. Still haven't seen it, and there's no price. Should I at least go and see it and how much should I offer him?

I mean if you don't see it, you might regret it thinking it was a good buy. As for the price, I spoke to a guy that bought one similar year I think for around $3k, claims to be in mint condition. I think it would be best to check out some listings and compare to get a rough idea.

Definitely go look at it, especially if the hull really is as good as it seems. I think for older Starfires, condition matters way more than year, so check the transom, stringers, and paperwork on that rebuild. Being in Virginia, prices can swing. You might want to see comps before throwing a number out.
