I'm sorry for you loss.. I think it's special that you have his boat to remember him by! You'll need to find the hull identification number / HIN to properly identify the year and model of your Skeeter. It's usually on the starboard side of the transom, near the top. It's a 12- or 17-digit code and the last two digits typically indicate the model year. Let me know if you find it!
Check the back right of the boat near the top, that's where the HIN usually hides. Once you've got that number, the last two digits will tell you the year.
